Career History
Michael Daley‘s career spans three decades. Involved in launching four new investment management businesses CSFB, Morgan Stanley, Guinness Flight, and latterly Avebury Asset Management and has a personal global fixed income record starting in 1986.
Michael specialises in global macro economics; all aspects of fixed income investing (government, ABS, mortgage, credit, emerging markets); all aspects of currency management and overlay; relative and absolute return investing; tactical trading and leveraged long/short. Equity and commodity allocation.
He has been particularly successful managing foreign exchange and was named "one of the young lions" by Pensions & Investments in 2003 in recognition of alpha generated.
In 2004 Casey Quirk ranked his firm, Avebury, number three (after PIMCO and Templeton) for "process quality” in global fixed income.
He has advised governments and central banks on reserve asset management; corporations on treasury management; and pension plans across all asset classes. He has managed two hedge funds for clients.
Michael has extensive experience of managing risk; managing derivative exposures; of regulation and platform management - FSA, SEC, Irish FSA, and Bermuda MA - and has been a statutory director of investment enterprises in a number of jurisdictions around the world.
